80’s smooth synth R&B at it’s best. Shalamar “Over And Over” from 1983’s The Look album. Produced by the legendary Leon Sylvers, III. This song reminds me so much of my Auntie Sheila. She loved this song!

Swizz is one of the most ginuine people I have ever encountered in the music biz. He has proved his longevity by sticking close to the work and always standing on his talent. He is a real stand up guy and it was an honor honoring him at the brunch on Sunday.

Fun Times…

Big up to the homie No I.D. It’s about damn time he gets his just due. Dude is a legend.

Although Kanye was visibly missing from The Grammy’s last night, his mentor was there to put on for their city. Among all the fuckery I’ve read online today, the one thing I didn’t see was the legendary No I.D. getting the recognition he deserved for the work he put in this year. He not only took home a statue for his production on “D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune),” but two more as well for the co-production of “Run This Town.” The world is anxious to see what he’s capable of doing in 2010.

In 2008, Carolyn Djanogly took pictures of Sade, Amy Winehouse, and other stars for the Lavender Trust Charity for Breast Cancer. Sade just turned 51 last week and these pics were taken when she was 49. Talk about COUGAR!!!! Sade is still fly. For more info on the charity, click here. As you can see, I got the photo from Straight From the A. Big ups.

Bryan-Michael Cox and SESAC Honor Top Music Producer Swizz Beatz at 6th Annual Pre-Grammy Brunch. Music by Celebrity DJ SynCity.

- Bryan-Michael Cox and SESAC will host their 6th Annual Pre- Grammy Brunch during the 2010 Grammy Weekend in Beverly Hills, California. The annual brunch, also sponsored by Devotion Vodka and TheCashFlow.com, music by Celebrity DJ SynCity, will honor Swizz Beatz for his achievements and milestones within the music industry over the course of his career.

The exclusive brunch was started by Cox to pay homage to industry executives, producers and songwriters whose infinite contributions in music often go unnoticed. Cox established the brunch as a networking vehicle for his colleagues and peers. “Every year I look forward to celebrating the achievements of my comrades in music,” says Cox. “This year I am especially thrilled to recognize the accomplishments of my friend and fellow music producer Swizz Beatz for his continued success and dedication to music.’

Kasseem “Swizz Beatz” Dean, a member of SESAC, began his remarkable production career at age 16 garnering hits for rappers DMX, Eve and Jay-Z. He then went on to launch Full Surface Records while establishing himself as a blockbuster producer for an array of artists including Beyonce, Whitney Houston, Lil Wayne, TI, Ludacris and Chris Brown. The brunch’s past honorees include Jermaine Dupri, DJ Toomp, Chris Hicks and Danja Hands.

Notably, this year’s brunch will also commemorate Bryan Michael Cox’s latest career milestones including his recent induction into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame, being named one of Billboard Magazine’s top ten producers of the decade and 2010 Grammy nomination for work on Trey Songz Ready Album.
