Classic Album: LL Cool J “Mama Said Knock You Out”

This album takes me back to 1990. I was in middle school and LL Cool J was one of my 2 favorite rap artists at that time. It was him & Big Daddy Kane. So when I saw that Marley Marl was the producer of this album I went crazy! See, Marl produced all of the Juice Crew records that I was a big fan of, so it’ was like my favorite rapper had joined my favorite crew musically. When I heard the Jingling Baby remix that Marl had done I was hoping that he would produce for Cool J and when it happened, I kinda felt like I had something to do with that in some weird telepathic way! Lol. So, here is my classic album of the day. LL Cool J’s Mama Said Knock You Out. Ironically one of my favorite joints on here is Milky Cereal. I was such a nerd. But of course this album is hard. Aaaaahhhhh I miss the 90′s…

Thoughts: NKOTB!

DSC_0247

I know it’s been a few days since I have blogged. Been crazy busy. Just finished up doing this media stuff for the McDonald’s Flavor Campaign that includes myself, DJ Spinderella, & DJ Irie. While I was in NY, I also wrote a song for Jordan Knight with my cousin/brother Wyldcard. Joint came out dope and I experienced somthing that I have never experienced in my life. I have been blessed to work with some superstars in my time but I have never experienced the craze that NKOTB still has. I posted one little tweet about me working with Jordan Knight and people started losing their minds!!! Trying to figure out where the studio was, to actually finding the studio and waiting outside for any signs of Jordan! My twitter timeline was full of people trying to find the studio. CRAZY. I have worked with everyone from Usher to Mariah to Mary J. Blige to The Pussycat Dolls to Gwen Stefani and I have seen a media craze but never a FAN craze. Them boys still got it after all these years. I was crazy surprised! And for him it was just another day being Jordan Knight. He took it in stride and we got the first of 2 songs written done. Now I am off to LA to meet with Anita Baker about producing her album and to write songs with some incredible pop/rock writers Toby Gad and Eman & Evan Bogart. Working on songs for Faith Hill! I am challenging my publisher to challenge me. LOL. Big ups to Juan Madrid and Ryan Press (my new Warner Chappell fam). Let’s get this going!!!!!!

God. Love. Life. Music. The Block. Exposed.

Ocean’s Drink: Antiguo Tequila from Casa Herradura Arrives in the U.S.

antiguo

I know by now all of my Lifers have seen the newest installment of Living The Life. I might have taken the drinking a little too far that night but in the spirit of Oceans I present to you Antiguo Tequila…

Originally developed in 1924 and served exclusively to family and friends of the manor at Mexico’s Hacienda del Refugio, Antiguo tequila has never been sold in the U.S. – until now.

The super-premium brand was launched commercially in Mexico in 1995 to commemorate Casa Herradura’s 125th anniversary (est. 1870) of producing the world’s finest tequila, using the original formula that was kept a secret for almost a century.

Antiguo is crafted using only 100% pure agave to be a lighter bodied, exceptionally smooth and mellow spirit. Distilled at 80 proof, it has a suggested 750ml retail price of $24.99 to $29.99 here depending on the expression: Blanco, Reposado and Añejo, in handsome vintage-inspired bottles with Herradura’s signature horseshoe motif.
