I did a cool interview with Torrey and grindandthrive.com. Check it out.
A couple of months ago I told JD that I wanted to do something special for the Lifers. I was inspired by the Crown Life 1414 Tour that he did last year so I decided to come up with a concept that brings together style, culture, and of course music. I’ve had the opportunity to meet many incredible people in my travels and I plan to spotlight these incredible talents through this initiative. This event is called The Global Cool and the first one is going down this Thursday, April 19th in Atlanta at the W ATL Downtown. Come through. Drink, party, and experience the next level of cool shit. This event will be curated by the legendary stylist Mike B. and Japanese Reggae Sensation Mighty Crown. To RSVP please hit bowe@boweinc.com to be put on the guest list. Remember you HAVE to be on Global14 in order to get on the list.

Miles is gangsta!
Over the weekend I went to see PJ and Dawn perform. It was a good time, I am thoroughly impressed with Dawn’s development as an artist. She really has the it factor and her stage presence was incredible. On top of that she sang her ass off. And of course PJ showed up like he always does. And even though he was struggling with the flu, he still gave 110% and killed his performance. And big up to Ben Deignan. He did a great job as the opening act. It was good just to relax, hear some good music and have a jack and coke. Show was dope.
Big ups to the homie Chris over at Union. This is way too dope and this is a sure shot sign that he’s made it!!!! Congrats on the success of the store doc.
If the success of Union Los Angeles wasn’t enough proof that founder/style muse Chris Gibbs had made it big, then perhaps Fashion Figure Inc.‘s pocket-sized rendition will do the trick. Rocking some goods from his larger twin’s store, including a U.S. Alteration beanie, a Junya Watanabe MAN jacket, a Carhartt bag, and even Sophnet x Pendleton scarf and iPhone, this toy version is definitely a chip off the ol’ block. You can pick up this vinyl figurine yourself later this month directly from UNION.

This is the note that Kevin (CEO of Instagram) left on his blog:
When Mike and I started Instagram nearly two years ago, we set out to change and improve the way the world communicates and shares. We’ve had an amazing time watching Instagram grow into a vibrant community of people from all around the globe. Today, we couldn’t be happier to announce that Instagram has agreed to be acquired by Facebook.
Every day that passes, we see more experiences being shared through Instagram in ways that we never thought possible. It’s because of our dedicated and talented team that we’ve gotten this far, and with the support and cross-pollination of ideas and talent at a place like Facebook, we hope to create an even more exciting future for Instagram and Facebook alike.
It’s important to be clear that Instagram is not going away. We’ll be working with Facebook to evolve Instagram and build the network. We’ll continue to add new features to the product and find new ways to create a better mobile photos experience.
The Instagram app will still be the same one you know and love. You’ll still have all the same people you follow and that follow you. You’ll still be able to share to other social networks. And you’ll still have all the other features that make the app so fun and unique.
We’re psyched to be joining Facebook and are excited to build a better Instagram for everyone.
Best,
Kevin
